a flower is dead

flower on dirt road
half buried, half dead
i ask
what boot would've squashed it
i must be going mad
'cos i see tears in there
a flower is dead today
why isn't the world crying

I think the flower was already dead when it parted from its branch..

The world doesn't care for anything, flowers, trees, people..

As they say, "The show must go on"

That's a sad thought. And what is worse is that the world never cries!

In the age of materialistic ambitions, there are very few who care about things like flowers and birds and butterflies and rainbows. I think that is why no one spares a tear or two for the unfortunate flower.
Your poem is quite similar to the starting lines of one I had written long time back. I am inspired; maybe I'll post it one day :-)
