versus

i am,
a seething, simmering carcass
with my wares not yet stale
the mind, the limbs
the blood and the entrails

they,
stumble down near me
making ill use of their wings
they crawl, they drool, they wait, they wait
begging nourishment for their beings

i give them what i've
i keep their desires alive
a fallen feather is all i crave
for my soul to take flight

This is darker and edgier from what you usually write, I think. Great imagery, and I love the last two lines.

oh my god...
do i also see MHC comin in the pic?
this is a mindboggling description of the individual waiting to rise from its own ashes, the christ that is in all of us.

the imagery is so strong... intense... even shocking... it strikes deep...

the way body and soul are detached frightens me... maybe this has been your aim... hmmm... the persona wants to tell the world he doesn't care a damn for anything material... eh? (love Dee's interpretation re: the christ figure)
:)
the last two lines show the persona is a good chess player... he knows what to sacrifice to win the game...
:)
absolutely beautiful...
this made me love my feathers more...
we have not earned them cheap, have we?
:D

'versus' brings polarity
but
Jesus love...
love beauty...
beauty unity...

human: what u and dee did is perhaps reading my subconscious or maybe the unconscious. and he is not a good chess player, he is not even playing the game, he just wants to get over with it and he knows that he won't be able to.

yes, every good thing in my life, has been almost too expensive to pay the price for. except perhaps life itself, which i treat so cheaply, almost with disdain.

it has to be versus between me and them. they can't love, i can't hate.

shadows: thanks. ur comment was perhaps the best complement i could have got.

and the existential angst will continue to claim an identity for itself.

Is this written about Ganga or Yamuna. Somehow it seems the river is lamenting what people have done to it !! They dump carcasses in it, drool, crawl, stumble down, "beg" nourishment for their beings.....and she keeps their desires alive !!! But one day, its soul may take flight too.....and it'll become a lifeless entity, like its sister Yamuna !!
