on observing and imagining

i'm a writer of memory. i write from what i have seen or feel i have seen. howsoever i try, i can never write from imagination and i admire and am jealous of those who can. but even imagination is memory na? you never imagine what you've never felt before.

I m not sure about how you relate feeling to memory. Feeling in itself can be imaginative. You can feel something right now, in this moment, and that can be imaginative. You may not be feeling because it is happening. You may have made an effort to feel that way because you have conditioned your mind to feel like that.

Very true...but I have written about things that I had not felt myself personally at times, though the reason I could write about them was, that I let myself into the situation that the other person would be in that case,I actually had to put myself into the shoes of the person concerned, go through the same emotions as the person, only then could i write it.

I have the same problem, no imagination.

But there is a difference. In your case - memory or imagination, you have a way with words which is admirable.
