शीशे के सामने बैठीं तुम
और तुम्हारे बाल बनाता मैं
बातें करते
कुछ नया सीखते
ज़िन्दगी बांटते
कितना कुछ, सुलझाते जाते हम


little, simple, everyday things are much more important than yearly celebrations and shopping trips to the mall. sadly, we don't realise this often. this poem saves one such moment about life, for life...

talking

on Sachin's 38th Birthday

we all sing paeans for Sachin, put Him on the pedestal of a living God, but then what do we learn from Him? do we inculcate His humility, His commitment to work, His love and pride for the country...believe me, if we did any one of these things, we would be closer to the God He is then only remaining his fans for life. On His birthday today, i promise to myself (and to nobody else) that i'll try n inculcate these and many more learning from the only individual i've 'idolized' in my life.

thank God that i've Sachin to look up to. i wish Him all the best in everything He does.

today is Earth Day

The day to think about our impact on Mother Earth, and how through the littlest of things, we can make a difference. Visit the website of the Earth Day here: http://www.earthday.org/ and see what the world around you is doing. Take a pledge, make a conscious effort and believe that you can, yes you also can be the change in the bigger scheme of things.

These are some of the things that we can do to make sure we’re a part of the friends of our environment:

01.   Use rough, one-sided printed paper for writing.

02.   Print as little as we can. Pdfs, e-books and an MS Word files do quite good.

03.   Switch off all the unnecessary lights and electrical equipment. And if you’re the last one leaving the office, make sure that all the computers are properly shut down (in addition to blinking monitors and comp speakers!)

04.   Use your home AC on power saving and sleep mode.

05.   Do not put electrical equipments like TV and Comps on prolonged stand-bys.

06.   Try to use only that much water as required. Living in Delhi, I’ve known what water scarcity is and try my utmost to save as much as I can.

Above are the few things that I consciously attempt to make a difference to the environment. And I’m sure you too will be doing something for Mother Earth. Little habits leave a big impact. Let’s come together, share our common wisdom and together be the difference that only we can be.

फिर चाहे तुम छुपी हो सागर में, आकाश में

make health your middle name

Dear Friends,

Health is an issue most often ignored by us. We all know that we should take better care of our health, but then who does? This World Health Day (7th of April), let's make a promise to ourselves, that we won't ignore our health anymore. I've attempted a little initiative, please do join me to make health a part of our collective identity. All you have to do is to follow these simple steps:

01. Think, and really think about that one health goal you must achieve. It could be as simple as just being more active or complex as achieving  8 pack abs.

02. Write it in the middle of your name and update it on the Facebook page I've created for the initiative. Here is the link to it: http://ow.ly/1uK5r (do become a fan of this page, we need the numbers!)

03. Spread your new health goal or status through e-mail, facebook, twitter, blogs etc. You can also copy and paste this as your e-mail or blog post.

04. Make sure to get in touch with your close friends and family at the very least. Ask them to make health their middle name!

i'm a writer of memory. i write from what i have seen or feel i have seen. howsoever i try, i can never write from imagination and i admire and am jealous of those who can. but even imagination is memory na? you never imagine what you've never felt before.

missing it

at around 3 in the office, i remembered how i've not written anything for me for some days now.

tomorrow starts a three-day weekend but i most probably will be in the office. have loads of work at hand and some very interesting projects that i really want to do. so, i'm looking forward to it... to writing for career, fun, office etc. but simultaneously, have been missing writing for myself, for pain, for life.

and waiting...
